Since last few days I was getting many questions on my Quora Account about Notes and I answered 2 or 3 of them and then decided to write an article on this topic instead of answering individual question.
In this article I am going to answer a very important, valuable and useful question. The question is "Why we should makes notes?", "Why notes are important?", "Why one should make notes when it already present in books?", "What are benefits of making notes?", Why to make notes as it is time consuming?"
So, let's get started....
First of all, you should know what are notes?.. So according to me, notes are a mini book which we make for our convenience and in which we write the information and knowledge received from the book and our teacher in our own language which we can easily understand.
👉Benefits of Making Notes
- During exams, no one has time and nobody want to read the whole book (except some extraordinary peoples or mahapurush, haha lol😄). In this case notes are like blessings.
- During lectures, everybody understands what the teacher is teaching them but a day after, all the information or details of the lecture faded and later on after one or two weeks the whole matter of that lecture vanishes from the mind. To overcome from this incurable disease one should take a medicine of notes.
- The person who makes notes by himself scores good marks in exams than the person who just read the books and give exams because the person who makes notes has experience and idea to write any matter in his language and remember only that person scores good marks who writes in his own language instead of mugging the bookish language.
- The language and word of some books are old or hard to read and learn in this case, one can make his notes by choosing easy alternative words which he can easily understand.
- For people who do not have read a word because of some reason can still score satisfying marks in exams by using good notes.
- Making notes also helps you to summarize information. You can’t write out a whole chapter or lecture in your answer sheets in exams, only a summary of it.
👉Why one should make Notes?
After reading the matter written in “Benefits of Writing Notes” section, you
may have get an idea why one should make notes and I think this is enough for
you to understand why you should make notes.
I think, “Benefits of Notes” section has also given the answer of our next
question that “why notes are important?”
Now let’s move to our next question that is “Why we should make notes if all the matter is already written in our books”
👉Why we should make notes, if we have all the matter written in books?
I am agree with this point that it is already written in book and with a good handwriting, haha😄 the books are printed not written so I would say with a good machine-writting. Making notes is not just to copy the matter that is written in book but it is a way to practice what you have understand about that topic. We make notes to bring the information in our own language which makes the revision easy in exam time.
👉Why to make notes as it is time consuming?
It is also true that making notes is time consuming, so while making notes you have to think about benefits and loss of making notes. If it shows benefits then, you can continue to make notes otherwise, it is not much important to make notes for those subjects which you can learn, revise and understand by only reading the book of those subjects.
Making notes of important subjects is time consuming but it happens only when you try to do whole work at a time. If you write your notes daily. Don't swallow all at a time, eat slowly-slowly otherwise it will stuck in your neck.
